Pros: This stuff smells just wonderful and is really refreshing. It lathers up great, and I can definitely tell it's working. I have been using clarifying shampoo in hopes of fading out hair dye I'm growing out(as the sulfates contained within are known killers of hair color), and I've noticed it does seem to have a very subtle fading to it. While pretty minimal, it's better than nothing. Also, my hair looks really shiny and clean, I see highlights in the light I didn't notice before after using and the texture while a little bit dry after the shampooing, feels silky, clean and light. The lovely scent of it lingers in my hair as well, which I like.
Cons: After using my hair felt very dry, even after using a different moisture intensive conditioner. I have pretty normal hair, though perhaps a bit on the dryer side from past hair dye, though I have a good 7 inches of virgin hair grown out and that too felt a bit dry. I cannot say whether or not this would be damaging to those with oily scalp and hair nor how often it would be ok to use, but if you have normal or dry, you'll want to use this sparingly and definitely follow up with some serious moisture. I actually had to put leave in conditioner in after I did the normal routine of shampoo & conditioning in the shower, which seemed to help. I use once or twice a week to help fade out dye, but for those just looking to get rid of product build up, you might be better off using once every two weeks or every month, depending on how many hair products you use a day. Also, while this seems to work just fine, there are probably a couple better clarifying shampoos out there should you have the time and money to research.
